Wondering how to lose weight after baby? When you’re on high gas and up on fumes, you’re probably wondering how long you’ll last until your next appointment! You’re in the right spot! The postpartum period can be such a jarring experience. Here’s what I did to lose weight after baby…

First off, stop obsessing over your baby. It’s hard to do now, but when you get your due date it will be just as hard to miss. Now that I’m done carrying around my pre-pregnancy belly, I’m focusing on my gaining weight post-baby. I do this by keeping a food journal of calories I eat every single day. This allows me to track everything I consume and compare it to how many calories I burn on a daily basis. Once I have a good idea of my calorie intake, I know what food I should limit or eliminate from my diet to make sure I’m still getting enough calories to keep me going.

One of the biggest things I’ve found helpful is changing my meal frequency. This includes both breakfast and lunch. I used to be a breakfast person, taking a milk supply (dairy) before going to work in the morning, then having a second bottle of juice to pick up at work. After coming home from work, I would have a couple of meals, depending on what I needed to get done. Lunch was usually either a big salad with meat and potatoes or a piece of fruit. For dinner I would either have a piece of chicken, rice, or pasta.

As soon as I gave birth to my baby, I was quickly told I was going to need to slow down with the amount of calories I was eating. I quickly changed my meal plans and stuck to them. I didn’t want to go back to old ways of eating like I used to in the past. So, I started incorporating more fruits and vegetables into my daily meals and added in daily calcium supplements.

Most of the time, busy moms will have a hard time preparing healthy and delicious meals for their kids. However, once you start to put the necessary ingredients together, the hardest part is done. There are many easy to prepare healthy recipes that mom can make without spending too much time in the kitchen. One of the best meals mom can prepare is a baked meal for her family. Baked chicken, brown rice, and low fat sour cream make a tasty and healthy meal that will not only satisfy your taste buds but will fill them up as well.

Another way to get back to the old ways of eating is to limit portion sizes. Since you won’t be eating as much, you will be able to keep the calories you consume to a minimum. This will allow you to lose weight faster because you won’t be consuming a high amount of calories. This will also help you get back to having a proper weight for your baby.

Finally, take note of how you feel every time you eat certain foods. If you are not hungry, try taking a smaller-sizedsized bite of your favorite food. This will show you that you can adjust to small portions. You will also get used to smaller portions and eventually will enjoy eating more than usual. This will also show your doctor that you are losing weight appropriately and you don’t have any nutritional deficiencies that should be corrected before surgery.

So, in conclusion, if you are concerned about losing weight after having a baby, start by lowering the caloric intake. Then incorporate more fresh produce and get back to the old ways of eating that your mother used to do. This way you will lose weight after having a baby and not suffer any long term effects from it. Just remember that one of the most important things that you can do for yourself is to stay active so that you maintain a healthy weight throughout your lifetime.
